  7. This ReadMe file contains information that will be helpful in running
  8. the NFA Tutorial CBT.

  25.     Step 1. Place the CD-Rom in the computer CD-ROM tray.    
  26.

  28.     Step 2. Run the Install Program:                          
  29.                                                                
  30.         * Click on the Start button.                   
  31.                                                          
  32.          * Highlight the Run menu.                      
  33.                                                           
  34.         * Type in the letter of your CD-ROM drive.                          
  35.                                                              
  36.         * If your CD-ROM drive uses the letter D, type    
  37.            d:\setup.exe in the Open box of the Run menu. In   
  38.            general, the command will be:            
  39.           (drive letter of CD-ROM):\setup.exe.          
  40.                                                                   
  41.         * Click on the "OK" button.

  45.        Step 3. NFA CBT Database System
  46.         
  47.         * If the database system has not been installed on
  48.           your computer, or if a component is missing, you 
  49.           will be shown a dialog with an "Install" button.
  50.             
  51.                   Go ahead an press "Install", and the database system
  52.           will be installed.
  53.         
  54.         * None of the NFA CBT Simualation CBTs will
  55.           run properly without the NFA Database System.
  56.         
  57.         * After the install of the database system, you will
  58.           be returned to the NFA Tutorial CBT setup program.

  61.     Step 4. NFA Tutorial CBT Setup Program
  62.  
  63.         * Follow the directions on the dialogs you will be
  64.           shown- they will guide you through the installation.

  66.         * Accept the default location for the Tutorial CBT.

  69. note:    The entire install (NFA CBT Database System, and Tutorial CBT)
  70.     should be allowed to run through to the end. See 
  71.         troubleshooting for a message you may get during the install.

  76. Running the Tutorial CBT:
  77.     
  78.     Windows 95:
  79.         * Open the Start Menu
  80.         * Open the Programs menu
  81.         * Goto "NFA Tutorial CBT"
  82.         
  83.     The red Incident Command System button will launch the 
  84.     Tutorial.

  89. HOW TO SEND RECORDS TO THE NATIONAL FIRE ACADEMY (NFA)
  90.  
  91. NOTE: The CBT Database Assistant Wizard should not be used each time 
  92. a student takes the test. Rather, it should be used to process groups 
  93. of student records together.  The student records should be processed 
  94. approximately 50-75 student records should be processed at a time.

  96. Consult the help file that comes with the NFA CBT Database System
  97. for more information on how to send the records to NFA.

  103. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  104.  
  105. 1. During the installation, you may be prompted with the 
  106.    message:
  107.  
  108.    "The OLE system files are in-use and cannot be updated. The
  109.     installation will restart windows to update OLE. You must 
  110.     re-run this installation after windows restarts to comlete
  111.     the installation."
  112.  
  113.     This message is normal. Restart windows, then run the 
  114.     installation again. You will not receive the above message
  115.     again.
